I can't do video at work, but I don't need to for this one. It's Vicki's "Are you sure that little @$$hole's finished?" - perfectly in character - that demolishes me every time.
Right. And unbleeped. And the long long long version, with a lead in not normally seen on clips. Vicki Lawrence was hired because she sent in a fan letter that told Carol, "My friends say I look like you," and Carol wanted to meet her, and Vicki charmed her. Good choice, I think.
I saw bits on a tribute show that made me happy, including Jim Nabors talking about when he was watching TV once with Lucille Ball, when Ball was very old, and Ball said, "That kid's really good." Nabors said, "Lucy, you know, you're very funny." She said, "Okay, but that kid's really good." And Tony Orlando once asked her how she survived running a variety show, as he'd just started and was exhausted. She said something like, "You don't run it. You get talented people, and you do it together."
I still think she's one of the best things about television ever. Just this clip shows that shows how well she was able to get out of the way and just be there letting her very funny friends entertain her.

(I love Carol Burnett.)
I was so sorry to see that show end.
Oh THANK YOU for that! I loved that show, and yes, it still cracks me up, too. Especailly watching the others try not to bust up.
